Ron Lacher, P.E., C.B.P., President of Pool Engineering, Inc., holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State Polytechnic University and is a registered professional engineer in California. As the prior owner of a swimming pool construction company, Ron is a nationally recognized expert in swimming pool construction as well as swimming pool structural design.    Ron’s firm, Pool Engineering, Inc. has provided the structural designs for over 100,000 pools. Ron’s affiliations include; The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) where he is a Certified Building Professional (C.B.P.) and a member of the Builders Council and Education Committee, the Advisory Board of the National Pool Industry Research Center at California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, The American Concrete Institute where he is a certified Shotcrete Examiner for both wet & dry mix shotcrete, the American Shotcrete Association where he is an approved trainer/educator for wet & dry mix shotcrete, The Technical Committee for the development of the International Code Council (ICC) “International Swimming Pool, Spa & Hot Tub Code”, the Technical Committee of the International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) for the most recent code cycle of the “Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa & Hot Tub Code” and the Swimming Pool Technical Sub-committee of The Ceramic Tile Institute of America for the preparation of ANSI installation Standards for tile and glass tile in swimming pools.

In addition to providing structural engineering for swimming pools, Ron frequently serves as an “Expert” in the field of swimming pool construction and has completed over 500 investigations on various issues involved with swimming pools.  Ron has authored numerous articles on proper trade practices and structural engineering in swimming pool construction and is a well known seminar presenter at national and regional trade conferences.www.pooleng.com
