GAVA transcends beyond the traditional water-themed design awards by hosting an integrated world-wide competition open to design professionals of all genres dedicated to influencing and creating thought-provoking solutions. The award salutes the innovative spirit of artisans from every segment of the globe, celebrating diverse concepts from varying cultures, environments and philosophical aspects.
Structure Studios, a software development company specializing in 3D visualization was named as the presenting sponsor for the 2009 and 2010 awards. “It is our pleasure to recognize outstanding leaders in the industry who demonstrate quality and innovation while pushing the boundaries of art, architecture, and design. GAVA will be introduced simultaneously in two architecturally significant regions the week of November 17, 2008, at the International Pool|Spa|Patio Expo in Las Vegas, NV and at
the Piscine Home|Pool Show in Lyon, France.

GAVA is the only independent design awards competition open to all design disciplines including: Architects, Contractors, Interior & Exterior Designers, Home Builders, Pool
Builders, Landscape Architects and Landscape Designers worldwide.
GAVA will acknowledge the most groundbreaking concepts, designs, materials and applications of water-inspired environments from across the globe in commercial, mixed use,
hospitality, public use, recreational and residential, in both interior and exterior applications.

GAVA will become the most well-respected award, and one that international artisans aspire to year-after-year as an accomplishment to their list of professional accolades.
Categories include pools, spas, water features, waterfalls, reflection ponds, koi ponds, and water fountains, as well as special materials such as lighting, acrylic walls, tiles, natural materials and of course “green” AquaTekture. As presenting sponsor, Structure Studios also will present a “signature” award for artisans who utilize the company’s 3-D software to develop their winning concept.
Entries will be judged on their aesthetic beauty as well as how each exemplifies the objectives of the projects; designs exhibiting original and diverse concepts that demonstrate respect for environmental, cultural, philosophical, and/or historical components.
GAVA will be the ONLY design awards program to showcase winners in an international design book. Schiffer Publishing, LTD., a leading publishing house with over 3,100 titles, will publish the high-quality book. The full color design book will be distributed on-line and throughout major bookstore chains and home improvement stores.
